Cyclone: Jesus protected me!
Recently Cyclone Alfred came towards the east coast of Australia near Brisbane. All through the preceding week, there were warnings about the rain and the wind. The premier of Queensland told me about steps being taken to recover afterwards. The cyclone started as a category 3 and was predicted to be a category 2 when it struck. Flooding warnings and wind warnings. I was told how to make sure my windows didn’t blow out. I was concerned because I imagined the roof blowing off. My dog wouldn’t have been able to urinate and defecate because the yard would be covered in water. I was concerned about water entering the house and the power going off.
So I prayed to Jesus
Jesus said if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “move into the sea”, and it will move. All we have to do is believe in our heart that it will happen with no doubt. So I commanded Cyclone Alfred to move in an easterly direction away from the Brisbane coast. It did move away briefly, but returned on its course toward Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I had no doubt that it would move away because I had had previous experience with the power of the name of Jesus.
Yet as I monitored the cyclone reports, the cyclone continued to move closer. I commanded it several times to move away, but it crept closer. I told it, it had to move because I had commanded it in the name of Jesus. It did stop sometimes, and it did move away, but then continued to move closer. I started to think that maybe it was God’s will for the cyclone to come upon me. But I told Jesus that I was relying on His Word the Bible (Old and New Testaments only). He reminded me that His followers walk by faith and not by sight. So I thought I must not take my cues from what I see, but know that God works in accordance with His Word. I prepared my house just in case. On the news I was told that the cyclone would strike on Saturday morning. I went to bed on Friday night relaxed and trusting that God would look after me. Before going to bed I prayed that Jesus would either move the cyclone out to sea or dissipate it. He did both.
What Jesus did
Jesus is God the Son. God is also the Father and the Holy Spirit. They are all parts of the one God.
Jesus created this world and the universe and all that there is. He controls everything that happens in this world. He created the cyclone and He controls the cyclone.
The cyclone was 50km away from Brisbane. Then 55km and then 65km, then it became an ex cyclone, a tropical low. No rain for me, no flooding, no damaging winds. Calm. Jesus moved the cyclone away and then dissipated it. No more cyclone. Praise Him!
God often does things at the last minute
I have known Jesus for 46 years. During that time He has done a lot of things in my life and in the lives of others. He often waits until the last moment before providing for me or protecting me. But He always comes through. I read the Bible nearly every morning. I love reading it. When I read it I am listening to God. When I pray, I am talking to God. Communication is two way. He talks and I listen, and I talk and He listens and responds. It is the best relationship.
I was getting concerned about the closeness of the cyclone, but just as it was due to come closer and affect me, Jesus moved it away and destroyed it.
Circumstances told me disaster was approaching. God’s Word told me to trust in God’s Word instead of believing circumstances. I trusted and acted on God’s Word and God(Jesus) removed the cyclone and protected me from wind and rain.
Jesus wants you to know Him
Jesus suffered torture and died on a cross to pay your penalty for your sins. 3 days later Jesus rose from death and is still alive now in heaven. He wants a personal relationship with you. Ask Him today to save you. He will. He will forgive you and change you from the inside. He loves you.
